An indica dominant marijuana strain, Blueberry is 80% indica and 20% sativa with across between Indica Afghani, Sativa Thai, and Purple Thai. This flower has been traced, developed, and used since the 1970s when a certain person named DJ Short, who’s known for being a mysterious breeder of marijuana, played around with different strains that are landrace that ended up being the crazily delicious Blueberry we know today. Due to its popularity in the market it even took home the award for Best Indica award at the High Times’ Cannabis Cup.
This type of marijuana strain is usually compact and small with its dark green leaves that have traces of red, purple, orange hairs, and has a coat of frosty crystals. These colors that are visible on the plant are due to anthocyanins which are responsible for the concentration of pigments in the actual strain. The buds of Blueberry can be quite sticky, but when grown correctly, it gives off a very fresh and aromatic smell of blueberries, hence the name. Once the bud has been opened, it gives off a musky smell with a hint of spice and smoke. The taste is very much like the smell for it gives of spicy, earthy, berry, and vanilla flavor.
The high it gives off when used is euphoric and uplifting. In addition to that, a person using it may feel some kind of heaviness in their body at first, which can be disorienting, but the relaxing effect will creep up on the user’s body slowly and then washing the person over with a sense of ease and security which allows him/her to unwind after a long and busy day at work. Blueberry will leave the person tired at the end of the day so it is advisable to use it in the evening.
